Appointment for Vacated Board Member Seat: Section 3

What: Open Board Seat Appointment, Section 3

Due to the Nov. 8, 2025 resignation of the board member representing Section 3, the Van Bibber Lake Conservancy District’s existing board invites interested freeholders to the upcoming Feb. 21, 9:30 a.m. meeting to allow interested individuals an opportunity to state why they believe they are qualified for the appointment of the open seat that is available for Section 3.

The board will take presentations under advisement, deliberate, and announce the appointment in the March 2026 meeting.

Per statutes/law, that Section 3 board seat will be up for election in November this year regardless of what Section the individual is appointed from to fill the current vacancy. The person that wins the election in November will then stay on until the expiration of the term. If no one from Section 3 comes forward as interested in the seat, then the board may appoint someone from a different Section. If there is an interested person from Section 3, the understanding is that person(s) has a preference in filling the vacancy.  Put another way, if there are three interested individuals and only one is out of Section 3, the individual from Section 3 would likely be appointed.
